System is entirely based on PHP 4, with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and above. Most of WebUpdate screens are defined inside the database thus allowing tremendous flexibility on the functionality and logic of forms, and content management. Entirely custom controls can be also be built. This gives WebUpdate CMS virtually unlimited functionality possibilities.
The WebUpdate CMS Builder is used to define screens, forms and search mechanisms in relation to target content tables. The AutoWizard tool allows for the easy creation of standard WebUpdate CMS controls.
Lifecycle and Workflow is performed using temporary storage tables that store unapproved and to-be-published content data.
The Hypertext Editor uses a standard Microsoft Internet Explorer Active X control that has been customized to fit WebUpdate CMS with custom tool sets.
WebUpdate CMS is designed to allow the publishing of content to one web site at a time (one-to-one relationship,) yet, smart programming can allow WebUpdate to be used across several web sites without violating the licensing agreement.
